The Pet Loss Vet is the working name of veterinary surgeon Caroline Hewson MVB PhD MRCVS.

With the values of being evidence-based & straightforward, I help vets & their teams build their skills & confidence for handling the many challenges of end-of-life work.

After obtaining her veterinary degree from the National University of Ireland and practising in the UK, Dr Hewson spent 15 years in academia. From 2000 to 2006, she was inaugural Research Chair in Animal Welfare at the Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre, Atlantic Veterinary College, Canada. Returning to the UK, Dr Hewson resumed clinical work and now works as The Pet Loss Vet.

All the feedback is very positive. They found the training incredibly useful and felt you were very knowledgeable when asked questions about different scenarios. They also liked the fact we were able to go off topic when things came up which was good for us to discuss in an open environment. Finally, they felt this training was best done in a small group so everyone could make the most of it.

I asked everyone if there were any areas they thought could be done differently but everyone was happy with how the day went!

I was absolutely delighted by the support we received from local practices [for attending your CPD intensive], and the feedback was brilliant.

I found the content of the seminars very informative with some good, new ideas. Iā€™d recommend them to anyone.

Can I just begin by complimenting you on this fantastic course. I have been an RVN for 13 years and have never learnt how to deal with EOL [end of life] properly.

Thanks again for your fantastic CPD and time spent with our staff. It has been very useful for us and has had a very positive impact on the staff that attended.
